Project Highlights

  • Vegetation Mapping
  • Special-status Species Habitat Assessment
  • Aquatic Resource Assessment
  • Extensive Site and Resource Mapping

Artemis Environmental prepared a Baseline Report to serve as a baseline for monitoring compliance with the terms of a Conservation/Restrictive Use Easement for the 935 acre Montecito Ranch located in the community of Ramona, San Diego County, California and to be owned and managed by Endangered Habitats Conservancy. The Baseline Report documents the current physical condition of the Property and its scope as confined to the values, purposes, rights, and prohibited uses as specified in the Grant Deed of Conservation/Restrictive Use Easement for use in monitoring and land stewardship.

Artemis Environmental biologists, Jasmine Bakker and Tara Baxter, conducted biological field surveys to verify and update biological resources documented within the Property during previous survey efforts completed between 2001 and 2018. Biological surveys included vegetation mapping in accordance with both Oberbauer and Manual of California Vegetation, habitat assessments for special status species, compilation of plant and wildlife species lists, and assessment of aquatic resources previously delineated. Field surveys also assessed conditions of access roads and trails; mapped presence/absence of perimeter fencing; mapped other structures such as power lines, signage, visible pipelines and other utilities; documented trash heaps; and collected representative photographs from various vantage points throughout the Property.
